Title: Games Pirates Play
Pairing: Jack/Jamie
Word Count: 348
Rating: PG
Summary: It's Jack's turn to do the chasing.
Notes: Occurs shortly after the deeds planned out here.
Found in Jack's bed, after a certain expedition to Cuba, on top of a neatly-folded coat, such as would be worn by a commodore in His Majesty's Navy.
My dearest Captain Sparrow,
Having given your remarks about missing the chase all due consideration, and considering that so notorious a pirate as yourself would loathe boredom in all forms, I've taken it upon myself to make your life a bit more interesting.
You've likely already noticed my absence. Several of the men we freed seemed to have a desperate desire to turn pirate, and, as their primary motive was revenge against the men (though I hesitate to use that term) who had brought them here, I felt it only decent to oblige them with certain lessons in seamanship. And as there was, in fact, a ship that formerly served for the transport of slaves left unattended, it likewise seemed fitting that I commandeer it for my own purposes.
I've no great desire to be parted from your for long, though, and so I must humbly point out that it is, in fact, your turn to do the chasing. I look forward to being caught, and will do everything in my power to make the rewards worth your while.
That said, I'm certain that a pirate of your skills would find a former commodore and his admittedly inexperienced crew no great challenge. When I first began chasing you, I did, in fact, give you a one-day head start, so certain was I of eventual success. In the spirit of fairness, I request the same.
Post Script– As you are, in fact, a pirate, and I place little trust in your sense of fairness, I may have made a few minor, practically insignificant alterations to the Pearl. None that would cause her any real damage, as I would never mistreat so fair a lady, esp. not one so dear to your heart, but enough that you should have some trouble setting out for a day or so.
I do love you, you ridiculous scoundrel.

He then slams the door shut, lays down on the bed Jamie vacated only this morning, brings the coat to his face, and breathes.
